Ricardo Sobral

PhD Student

Ricardo graduated in Anthropology at NOVA University in Lisbon and is currently a PhD candidate in Transportation Systems at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon. He is a certified instructor by the UK’s National Standard for Cycle Training and delivers courses on vehicular cycling and bicycle maintenance, teaching all levels from learning how to ride a bicycle to riding in busy roads and junctions where cycling infrastructures are not available. Ricardo’s research interests are focused on cycling mobility and its social, behavioural and educational aspects. He is also a member and volunteer of Cicloficina, a bicycle community workshop in Lisbon.
