Miguel Pires

MSc Student

Miguel is a master’s student in Transportation Systems, currently developing his dissertation on the functional characteristics of roads, streets, and networks. His aim is to add a layer of information to traditional transport and urban planning processes, leading to clearer city strategies and better allocation of resources.

His interest in these themes was motivated by his background in Geography and Regional Planning at NOVA University of Lisbon (UNL). Other areas he likes to study include the impacts of transportation on housing, shared economy solutions for urban problems, and the role of active mobility in boosting local economies.

In his personal life, Miguel enjoys sports, nature and outdoor activities. On days when he feels less energetic, he likes to consume fantasy and sci-fi content, considering himself a movie score aficionado.
